What should I consider when selecting an air conditioner?

Replacing or newly installing a central AC system is a significant investment, but it’s something that adds to the long-term value of your home. So while the price will always be important, it’s wise to consider a number of factors before making your decision. Some of those factors may include:

Check out our blog for more information on choosing the right air conditioner for your home.

Should I turn off my air conditioner during the day to save on power bills?

No, we don’t recommend turning off your air conditioner during the day. It might seem like a good idea to turn off your air conditioner when you’re not at home, but in reality, it takes a lot of energy to cool down a hot house.

It’s much more efficient to leave your system running throughout the day, but adjust the temperature slightly so it’s running less frequently while you’re out of the house.

When is my air conditioner due for maintenance?

First Call takes all the guesswork out of regular service and maintenance. We will give you a call when your system is due for service and filter changes.

We also offer three levels of Climate Care Protection Plans—Economy, Essential, and Premium—as cost-effective options for annual service and repair work.

How long does an air conditioner install take?

If I already purchased an air conditioner, will you still come and install it?

Most companies won’t install a customer supplied unit but we will be happy to give you a quote. However, if you purchased your AC unit from somewhere else we won’t be able to provide you with a warranty.

If you’d still like a quote for installation, get in touch with us today!

Where will my air conditioner be installed?

We prefer to install the outdoor AC unit as close to the furnace as possible. If that is not possible, we can go up to 50 feet away with no effect on performance or efficiency.

What is your service area?

While our team is based in Sherwood Park, we provide air conditioning installation services throughout surrounding areas including Edmonton, St. Albert, Fort Saskatchewan, Beaumont, and Ardrossan. We’re always willing to come to you!
